Sep. 14, 2006 Source: PRNewswire-FirstCall DuPont (NYSE: DD) and Bayer CropScience announced an agreement that enables the companies to better meet the needs of U.S. corn growers. DuPont Crop Protection will acquire access to the Bayer CropScience products isoxadifen and isoxaflutole for use with DuPont's corn sulfonylurea products. The isoxadifen will provide greater flexibility and utility to DuPont products in corn, including Steadfast(R), Accent(R), Stout(R) and Resolve(R) brands. Isoxaflutole, premixed with Resolve(R) brand herbicides, will allow DuPont to create new pre-emergence offers for glyphosate tolerant hybrids. Bayer CropScience, in turn, will gain access to participation in the Pioneer TruChoice program and to co-promote its Liberty(R)/Liberty Link program with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, a DuPont subsidiary. Documents implementing this agreement are expected to be finalized in the near future. "This is yet another step in the DuPont strategy to bring more choices and more complete, sustainable solutions to growers worldwide," said James C. Collins, vice president and general manager of DuPont Crop Protection. "Our agreement allows Bayer CropScience and DuPont Crop Protection to more effectively meet the needs of American corn growers, from planting to harvest," said Geoff Kneen, vice president, marketing and portfolio management for Bayer CropScience LP. "An important aspect of this is our collaboration with Pioneer Hi-Bred, which will provide growers greater access to an alternative non-selective herbicide technology in Liberty." Tweet |
