"TRUTH ABOUT ORGANICS" BOOK'S AUTHOR FILES FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST USDA
CropLife America reports:

The Hudson Institute's Alex Avery, author of "The Truth About Organic Foods", filed a formal complaint against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) for a news release, "Organic Farming Beats No-Till?" issued on July 10.

The first sentence reads, "Organic farming can build up soil organic matter better than conventional no-till farming can, according to a long-term study by ARS scientists."

"Entirely missing from this article was the critical context of other research conducted by USDA ARS (in fact, by the same group of researchers using the same cropping system) showing that organic farming is five times more susceptible to soil erosion compared to no-till farming," said Avery.
