Feb. 10, 2010 Source: Farm Progress Companies news release The Matt and Jana Hamlett Farms of Strawberry Point, Iowa, will be the location for the 24th annual Hay Expo. The largest demonstration hay event in the nation is scheduled to take place June 16 and 17, 2010. The two-day show caters to the large hay grower by showcasing the top manufacturers in the haying industry. The show site is located off Highway 3, just west of Strawberry Point, Iowa. The 2006 Hay Expo was held at this location. The Hamlett family farms near Strawberry Point and Arlington, Iowa. Matt and Jana have two daughters, Jaclyne and Jeanna. New Features for 2010 Show "There are a few things that will be different from the show in 2006. The dates are earlier and will hopefully fall between first and second cuttings to allow more farmers to attend," said Matt Hamlett, Hay Expo host farmer. "Plus the exhibit field and parking will be in different locations." New Hay Technology at Nation's Largest 2-Day Hay Event Sponsored by Farm Progress publications Wallaces Farmer, Wisconsin Agriculturist and The Farmer, the Hay Expo offers a look at new hay and forage technology with an extensive exhibit field and working demonstrations conducted throughout each day. Field Demonstrations and Exhibits The two-day hay extravaganza will showcase mowing, conditioning, baling, hay handling and silage demonstrations on alfalfa and forages. Visitors will be able to compare the various equipment brands operating side-by-side under actual field conditions. "For the serious hay producer looking to make the most out of their crop, the Hay Expo is the best possible place to gather information," said Matt Jungmann, Farm Progress national shows manager. A 10-acre exhibit field will highlight displays from the major and shortline specialty manufacturers, seed, building and storage facility suppliers, and a range of related product suppliers. Exhibitors plan to showcase a host of new products aimed at boosting the efficiency and profitability of hay and forage production. Mark Your Calendar for the Show The 2010 Farm Progress Hay Expo will be held June 16 and 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The show site is located off of Highway 3, west of Strawberry Point at the Matt and Jana Hamlett Farm.
