Mar. 10, 2010 Source: National 4-H Council news release National 4-H Council is hosting an evening 108 years in the making at the 4-H Legacy Awards Gala on April 22nd, 2010. This event will recognize individuals and corporations that have made lasting contributions over the years to support the millions of young people in 4-H. Invited guests include Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, senior members of the Obama Administration, representatives from U.S. Congress and fellow business leaders. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will present The Abraham Lincoln Vision Award to Dan Glickman, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and current Chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. The award recognizes our 16th President's role in establishing the Land Grant Universities. Today, 109 Land Grant Universities across the nation operate 4-H youth development programs as part of their mission. JCPenney will also be honored for nearly a century of generous support of the 4-H movement. Myron E. (Mike) Ullman III, Chairman of the Board and CEO of JCPenney will receive The Corporate Stewardship Award in recognition of the company's 80 years of outstanding dedication to America's 4-H youth. 4-H welcomes corporations or individuals to attend this incredible evening at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C., filled with tributes to the honorees, networking opportunities, and the acknowledgement of 108 years of work for America's youth.
