CATTLEMAN WHO BILKED KIEFER SUTHERLAND PLEADS GUILTY May 24, 2010
Agri Marketing reports
Michael Carr, the man accused of stealing $1.5 million from investors, including TV show "24" star Kiefer Sutherland, pleaded guilty to theft and forgery charges.
Initially, he could have gotten 18 years in jail, but instead will serve up to seven years and is to pay restitution to Sutherland and the other investors caught in the scam.
Carr promised the investors he would purchase cattle in Mexico and sell them in the U.S. for a profit. There is no record of him making the purchases. He also admitted to selling cattle that were not his.
