ADVANTA NAMES NEW U.S. BUSINESS MANAGER

Advanta US, Inc., a business unit of Advanta India, Ltd., one of the world's leading sorghum seed research and marketing companies, announces the addition of Steve Ligon as business manager.
Ligon brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the company's growing seed-marketer clientele, says Advanta Seeds CEO Ram Kaundinya. "We offer our global expertise and support as we look forward to working with him and the U.S. organization to meet their market and customer needs."
Working with the Hereford, Lubbock and Fargo organizations, Ligon says, "I'm pleased to join Advanta, with their superior genetics, a huge global germplasm base, an innovative research and breeding philosophy, and a leading proprietary position in the seed and biotechnology industry." Ligon, who has worked in the agrochemical and seed industry most of his career, says, "Farmers will continue to benefit as innovative new hybrids with cutting edge traits are introduced for bioenergy, grain and forage uses."
A graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S. in agriculture, Ligon has 22 years managing crop protection and row crop business, serving most recently as Syngenta Seeds North American head of commercial operations.
