Feb. 4, 2011 Source: Hoard's Dairyman news release Lucas Sjostrom joins Hoard's Dairyman magazine as an associate editor beginning on Monday, February 14. Lucas recently served as the Holstein Association USA's government relations specialist and communications assistant. He is currently enrolled in the Young Dairy Leaders Institute Class VII. He was the summer intern in the Hoard's Dairyman editorial department in 2008 and was a policy intern for House of Representatives member Collin Peterson of Minnesota, who served as chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Agriculture Committee during Lucas' five-month internship. "We are very pleased to have someone of Lucas' background and talents join us. We believe he is destined to make a real mark in the dairy industry," remarked Steve Larson, managing editor of Hoard's Dairyman. Sjostrom is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an Industry emphasis. He was raised on a dairy farm in Nicollet County, Minn., and was a National Distinguished Junior Holstein Member in 2008.
