BEEF TODAY LAUNCHES CATTLE-EXCHANGE.COM
Source: Farm Journal Media news release

Cattle-Exchange.com a new website connecting cattle buyers and sellers, was launched today by Beef Today magazine. The new site allows sellers to input free listings, or pay and post enhanced listings.

"We've been working more than a year to produce this new website with the sophisticated navigation options that allow cattle buyers and sellers to come together easier than ever before," said Bill Newham, VP/Livestock Group Publisher for Farm Journal Media. "There's nothing like this on the Internet that combines this number of listings with the ease of use."

Cattle-Exchange.com will allow cattle buyers and sellers to link up through an easy-to-navigate site that includes custom search options like breed choices and precise geography.

According to Newham, over the past two years, 65 percent of those purchasing breeding cattle used the Internet to locate or research their purchase. That's why there's a need for cattle buyers and sellers to be online. Sellers need to be there simply because that is where buyers are going today.

"Existing market channels will still have their place, but Cattle-Exchange.com offers a much greater selection and allows buyers to find the cattle that best suit their needs quicker and easier," Newham said.

Cattle-Exchange.com will have a national footprint and provide simple custom searches and a high volume of listings, with extensive detail and in an easy-to-use format. Even the free listings can include pictures.

"I think the reason so many cattlemen are going online is that they can sell their cattle right from their ranch and that reduces stress on the cattle and cuts freight and commission costs," Newham said. "Plus, this offers cattle to many more potential buyers that otherwise might never see the seller's inventory."
