ANDY VANCE JOINS FEEDSTUFFS, WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OTHER FARM PROGRESS PUBLICATION
Source: Feedstuffs news release

Feedstuffs is excited to announce that veteran communicator Andy Vance will be joining its editorial team in a full-time capacity effective March 1.

Vance has been a weekly contributor of commentary to animal agriculture's information leader since December 2010. His work has appeared in Feedstuffs and the company's associated Feedstuffs FoodLink initiative, which is directed at informing and educating influencers throughout the food system.

In his new capacity, Vance will provide grain- and feed-related market and news coverage. He also will continue as a contributing blogger for Farm Progress Companies' Beef Producer, a sister publication of Feedstuffs, and will serve as host on Feedstuffs First, a daily audio news segment that will launch March 1 on www.Feedstuffs.com.

"It is with extreme pleasure that I announce the addition of Andy Vance to the Feedstuffs editorial team. Feedback from our readers since we brought Andy on board as a freelance contributor over a year ago has been outstanding, and we look very much look forward to having him on our team full-time," said Sarah Muirhead, Feedstuffs editor and publisher and creator of Feedstuffs FoodLink.

Regarding the launch of Feedstuffs First, Muirhead said, this will be a daily audio program that will bring listeners the latest in agricultural news as well as insight into developments and storylines that the Feedstuffs team is tracking each week.

"Feedstuffs is the premier publication in the country for farm and agribusiness professionals," Vance said. "My time as a columnist has proven to me that our readers regard both the paper and our staff with the highest respect. That's why I'm so excited to be associated with the Feedstuffs team in this new role."

Vance is an agricultural journalist, commentator and broadcaster who is widely recognized as one of the nation's leading agricultural communicators. An active member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB), he received the 2006 NAFB Horizon Award recognizing excellence in farm broadcasting and promise for the future. He also received the 2009 Excellence in Agriculture Award from the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Prior to joining Feedstuffs as a contributor, he led the broadcast team at Ohio's Agri Broadcast Network, earning the 2010 NAFB Newscast of the Year Award, national runner-up in both the 2009 NAFB Newscast and Marketcast of the Year Awards, and NAFB News Service Awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Vance also has become one of the nation's foremost authorities on "new" and "social" media in agriculture.
Vance has worked in agriculture all his life and in farm media his entire career. He is currently pursuing masters' degrees in agricultural economics and public administration at The Ohio State University, where he graduated cum laude in August 2011.

A former member of the state officer team, Vance is an active supporter of the Ohio FFA and served for several years as chair of the Ohio FFA Foundation Sponsors Team, the Ohio FFA Foundation board of directors and as a past member of the Ohio FFA Alumni Council.

Vance was raised on a farm in Hillsboro, Ohio, where he owned registered Shorthorn cattle. He is a former member of the Ohio Cattlemen's Assn. and Ohio Shorthorn Breeders' Assn. boards of directors.

Feedstuffs has been providing news, information and analysis on the agriculture/food sector for more than 80 years. It has offices in Minnetonka, MN, and St. Charles, IL.
