Feb. 10, 2012 Source: SFP news release SFP announces today its next generation of executive leadership to manage product portfolio expansions, continued sales growth and the increasing number of employees hired to support sales, marketing and corporate initiatives, both domestically and internationally. J. Larry Sanders, Ph.D., will remain in his current position as President and CEO. His responsibilities include new product development, research and management of all company enterprises. Prior to co-founding SFP, Sanders held positions at American Plant Food and the Potash & Phosphate Institute. "With today's announcement, SFP welcomes to executive management a new team that is already providing strong leadership and contributing greatly to our current level of success," says Sanders. John Hardy, co-founder of SFP, has been named chief operating officer (COO) and general counsel. In his new role, Hardy's responsibilities include overseeing the structure and viability of company ventures in order to ensure all operations are efficient and effective. He reports directly to the CEO. Previously, Hardy held the role of executive vice president. Jake Sanders has been promoted to executive vice president (EVP). While his duties will primarily focus on international sales and marketing, they will encompass all aspects of SFP's domestic business affairs. Sanders reports directly to the CEO and COO. He previously held the role of vice president, market development. David Hardy has been promoted to vice president of operations and associate general counsel. His primary responsibilities include directing, organizing and controlling all organizational plans while providing legal counsel on company matters. Hardy reports to the CEO, COO and EVP. He previously held the role of associate general counsel. Dave Schwartz has been promoted to vice president of sales and business development. Schwartz's role is to drive the growth of the company, execute sales strategies aligned with company goals and objectives and develop new business. He reports to the CEO, COO and EVP. Schwartz previously held the role of national products manager. J. Larry Sanders, Ph.D. President and CEO As head of SFP, Larry Sanders develops and patents technologies in the use of polymers for increasing agricultural potential. His responsibilities include new product development, research and management of all company enterprises. Sanders' previous experience includes positions at American Plant Food and the Potash & Phosphate Institute. He also worked for the Rockefeller Foundation as a consultant in Bangladesh and Indonesia, and served as an international educator for India, Sri Lanka, China and Canada. Sanders is a member of the American Society of Agronomy and the International Society of Soil Science. He has served as president and research committee chairman for the Texas Forage and Grassland Council. In 1996, Sanders received the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award. He graduated cum laude from Northeast Louisiana University with a bachelor's degree in agronomy and earned master's and doctoral degrees in soil chemistry and soil fertility-plant nutrition, respectively, from the University of Arkansas. John Hardy Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel John Hardy is the chief operating officer and general counsel for SFP. Hardy's responsibilities include overseeing the structure and viability of company ventures in order to ensure all operations are efficient and effective. In addition to his duties at SFP, he currently serves as legal counsel for the Fluid Fertilizer Foundation. Hardy graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, with a bachelor's degree in political science. He received his master's degree and doctorate in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Mo., respectively. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jake Sanders Executive Vice President As executive vice president for SFP, Jake Sanders is responsible for managing international sales and marketing, as well as all aspects of SFP's domestic business affairs. Prior to this role, Sanders was vice president, market development. He also worked as marketing coordinator and marketing manager for SFP. Sanders earned a bachelor's degree in corporate communication from Avila University in Kansas City, Mo. David Hardy Vice President of Operations and Associate General Counsel As vice president of operations and associate general counsel, David Hardy is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling all organizational plans while providing legal counsel on company matters. Prior to joining SFP, Hardy was a part of a law firm in Kansas City. His area of practice focused on business and taxes. Hardy earned a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems in 2004 from Kansas State University, a Master's of Business Administration degree in 2005 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, his Juris Doctorate in 2008 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and his LL.M. in Taxation in 2009 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dave Schwartz Vice President of Sales and Business Development As vice president of sales and business development for SFP, Dave Schwartz is responsible for driving the growth of the company, executing sales strategies aligned with company goals and objectives and developing new business. Before joining SFP, Schwartz served as an area sales manager for Van Diest Supply Co., where he received the President's Award for sales 12 consecutive times. He also worked as a sales representative and trainer for Ciba Geigy (currently Syngenta) where he was honored with the Custom Applicator Magazine Award for top salesman in the nation and set several company sales records. Schwartz earned a bachelor's degree in business management and mass communications from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a member of ASA-SSSA and the NE Ag Business Association. In 2011, SFP Expanded Staff Across its Sales, Marketing, Research and Development and Corporate Communications Departments International Representation for SFP Products: Jim Barnett Latin America Account Manager Jim Barnett, SFP's Latin America account manager, joined SFP with more than 25 years of international sales experience. In this role, Barnett is responsible for sales and product education and building relationships with customers, distributors and retail partners. Previously, Barnett worked at Sumitomo Corp. of America as a sales and product manager, where he developed strong trading relationships in markets around the world while creating new business opportunities and increasing profits dramatically. Barnett earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at Amherst College and a juris doctorate degree at Pace University School of Law. Domestic Product Support Team for SFP Products: David J. Kaltenberg Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota Regional Account Manager David Kaltenberg, SFP's Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota regional account manager, joined SFP after having been a general and property manager at Kaltenberg Farm Partnership in Waunakee, Wisc. He is responsible for sales and product education as well as building relationships with customers, distributors and retail partners. Throughout the years, Kaltenberg gained experience and knowledge as a sales representative, safety coordinator, area sales director, regional account executive, and general manager. Kaltenberg helped increase sales at several companies including Tri County Cooperative, TH Agri Chemicals, Widen Enterprises, Royster Clark and Kaltenberg Seed Farms. Kaltenberg earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. John Meece Illinois Regional Account Manager John Meece, SFP's Illinois regional account manager, joined SFP with more than 30 years of experience in agronomy sales. Meece is responsible for sales and product education as well as building relationships with customers, distributors and retail partners. Meece joined SFP from Nationwide AgriBusiness. He also spent time at UAP, Gateway Seed and Pioneer Hi-Bred. During his career, Meece has been involved in agronomy research and sales in a variety of territories. Meece earned bachelor's and master's degrees in agronomy from the University of Illinois. Bob Pound Eastern U.S. Regional Account Manager Bob Pound, SFP's Eastern U.S. regional account manager, joined SFP with 36 years of sales and agronomy experience. Pound is responsible for sales and product education as well as building relationships with customers, distributors and retail partners in Florida and the Northeast. Pound joined SFP from Prairie Creek Terminal Services where he served as vice president of sales and operations. During his career, he's worked for Wilson Industrial Sales, Cooperative Plus Co-op and Diamond-R Fertilizer Company Inc. Pound received a degree in agronomy and minor in agricultural business from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. Reggie Underwood Southwest Regional Account Manager Reggie Underwood, SFP's southwest regional account manager, joined SFP after 18 years as a district sales manager and regional business manager with various companies. Underwood is responsible for sales and product education as well as building relationships with customers, distributors and retail partners in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Underwood previously has worked in sales and managerial roles for Ciba-Geigy (currently Syngenta), Helena Chemical Inc. and Albaugh Inc., working with farmers, ranchers and agri-retailers across the United States. Underwood fulfills his entrepreneurial spirit as a store partner with his daughter in their ARK Country Store in Waxahachie, Texas; the store is recognized as an expert and premier store for Purina and has grown tenfold since they assumed ownership. Underwood received a bachelor's degree in animal science from Tarleton State, a branch of Texas A&M. Mike Moser National Equipment Consultant Mike Moser, SFP's national equipment consultant, joined SFP with 25 years of sales and agronomy experience. Moser specializes in crop nutrient application and mixing equipment; he provides sales consulting, product placement and retail strategies to SFP product retailers throughout the United States.
