RURAL TV LAUNCHES MYRURALTV.COM

RURAL TV, a new multimedia agribusiness and rural lifestyle network, announced today the launch of its website, MYRURALTV.com, which works in synergy with the network's news team to provide audiences with 24-hour a day rural news including, breaking news, commodity market updates, geopolitics, weather, rural lifestyle features and original and interactive content Offering full social media sharing options, MYRURALTV.com includes community-driven news stories, opinions and polls.

RURAL TV's growth plans include an emphasis on convergence to promote website content and provide users with information and entertainment across television and computer screens, as well as mobile and tablet devices.

Rural Media Group, creators of RFD-TV and RURAL TV, hired Laura Abel as director of digital media strategy to manage the strategic direction of digital media platforms and revenue generating opportunities for both networks. Abel is responsible for defining, executing and implementing new ventures in digital and emerging media platforms including websites, video, mobile apps and audience engagement through social networks and digital revenue generation.

Laura has 17 years of experience integrating digital media into traditional media platforms. Most recently, she worked for Yahoo in a national role introducing new digital advertising technologies and solutions to advertisers. Prior to that, Laura had a digital media consultancy where she focused on migrating ad agencies and business into the digital arena. In addition, she held digital management roles at FOX TV and Entercom Radio Group fostering the growth and integration of digital media best practices, cultural shifts and digital sales team development and training. Abel works from RMG's office in Omaha, Neb.
