MIKE ORSO TO HEAD ILLINOIS FARM BUREAU'S NEWS, COMMUNICATIONS

Mike Orso began his position as Director of News & Communications for the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) effective July 9, 2012. He will be primarily responsible for IFB communications programs for farmers and farmer-members.
Previously, Mike served as a director on the Advocacy & Public Affairs team for Osborn Barr, a public relations and advertising company based in St. Louis. He was part of the management group that primarily leads the communications program for the United Soybean Board/Soy Checkoff.
Mike also served as senior producer for Channel Earth, led the communications effort for the National Corn Growers Association, and served on the information and public relations staff of the American Farm Bureau Federation. He began his career as a general assignment reporter for KWWL-TV in Waterloo/Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Mike holds a bachelor of science degree in agricultural journalism from Iowa State University.
