Sep. 5, 2012 Source: Swanson Russell news release Swanson Russell announces the addition of seven employees to its Lincoln office: Don Aguirre, Larissa Blick, Emily Hatas, Rachel Hohman, Jasmine Maharisi, Molly Sharp and Kaila Shirey. Aguirre joins the Lincoln office as a writer/producer. Prior to joining the agency the Phoenix native worked as a brand manager for Archrival in Lincoln. He also held positions as the communications director and speech writer for Nebraska State Treasurer Shane Osborn, communications director for the Nebraska Republican Party and communications director and speech writer for Congressman Jeff Fortenberry. Aguirre holds a degree in English literature from Arizona State University. Blick, a Greenville, S.C. native, serves as a public relations associate. She holds a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and a master's degree in mass communications from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Prior to joining Swanson Russell, Blick worked as a public relations manager for Ferebee Lane + Co. in Greenville. She has also held positions as upstate director for the South Carolina chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and first vice president of programs for the American Advertising Federation of Greenville. Hatas joins the Lincoln office as an account manager. Before joining the agency she worked as a technology agent at NUtech Ventures in Lincoln and interned at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation in Madison. An Elkhart Lake, Wis., native, Hatas is currently working on her master's degree in strategic management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She holds a bachelor's degree in botany from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hatas is also the program committee chair for TEDxLincoln. An Eagle, Neb., native, Hohman works as an account coordinator. This is Hohman's second stint at the agency, as she previously served as a public relations intern. Most recently she worked as a family permanency specialist for the KVC Behavioral HealthCare/Department of Health and Human Services in Lincoln, Neb. She holds a degree in advertising and public relations with an emphasis in digital media from UNL. Maharisi serves as a public relations writer. A Thomasville, Ga., native, she holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in news editorial from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Maharisi worked as a communications coordinator for the state of Nebraska prior to joining the agency. She currently serves on the board for the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards for which she writes show scripts and orchestrates public relations activities. Maharisi is also a freelance journalist for Omaha Magazine, The Reader and El Perico. Sharp joins the Lincoln office as an interactive project coordinator and Vermeer dealer systems coordinator. A Denver native, she graduated from UNL with a degree in advertising and public relations and minors in psychology and Spanish. Prior to joining Swanson Russell full time, Sharp worked as a runner and interactive project management intern for the agency. Shirey, a recent UNL graduate, is a media coordinator. She holds a degree in advertising and public relations. The Elkhorn, Neb., native worked as a marketing intern for the Lincoln Stars Hockey team prior to joining Swanson Russell. She was also a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity for which she served as the co-recruitment and public relations chairs. Tweet |
