![]() Mar. 15, 2013 Source: RQC Inc. news release Normand Brown, a 30-year veteran of the animal health industry specializing in regulatory affairs and quality control, has formed RQC Inc. - a consulting firm that helps product developers address registration and compliance matters while keeping commercial launch plans on schedule. "On average, it takes 7 to 10 years and up to $100 million for animal health companies to develop and secure registration for a new drug," Brown says. "For vaccines, the process is a little more streamlined - often 3 to 5 years and $80 million - but still a significant investment with uncertain returns." Brown's mission is to draw on his three decades of experience in animal health product development, manufacturing and compliance matters to ensure successful outcomes -not just for his clients, "but also for veterinarians, pet owners and food producers who eventually will benefit the most from these innovations," he adds. Prior to launching RQC, Brown was director of regulatory affairs for Merck Animal Health (formerly Intervet/Schering-Plough), where he spent 11 years guiding numerous innovative products to market. Earlier in his career, Brown, held regulatory and quality control positions with Diamond Animal Health, Mallinckrodt Veterinary, SyntroVet and Coopers Animal Health. Over the past 30 years, Brown has developed a reputation for building effective product-development teams while balancing company goals and customer needs with supply chain and regulatory compliance concerns.
