WILBUR-ELLIS EXPANDS INTO THE MIDWEST, ACQUIRES CHESTER FARM SERVICE
Source: Wilbur-Ellis news release

Wilbur-Ellis Company, a recognized leader in crop production technology and the distribution and marketing of plant protection, seed and nutritional products, announced it has acquired the assets of Chester Farm Service Corporation.

Located in Chester, S.D., Chester Farm Service has been providing seed, seed treatment, fertilizer, plant protection and custom application services to local farmers for over 40 years.

The acquisition fits strategically with Wilbur-Ellis' existing business in South Dakota, and it aligns with the company's growth objectives. The Chester location will allow Wilbur-Ellis to expand sales in fertilizer, plant protection, and other Wilbur-Ellis branded products to the area. The location will also be supported by Wilbur-Ellis' Huron, S.D. aerial application business.

"Chester Farm Service has a very similar relationship approach to its business as Wilbur-Ellis," said Troy Johnson, vice president of Wilbur-Ellis' Midwest Operations. "The team at Chester Farm Service is innovative, extremely customer-oriented, and has the integrity that we look for when acquiring a business."

"Wilbur-Ellis has experienced people, resources and technology that will help take this business to the next level of service when working with our growers," said Mike Roberts, part owner of Chester Farm Service. "We all look forward to joining the Wilbur-Ellis team."

Chester Farm Service is known by local growers to have vast knowledge and expertise in seed. The company is also a role model for its environmental, health and safety standards.

Wilbur-Ellis' Agribusiness Division generates over $2 billion in sales revenue and has over 160 locations in 25 states throughout the United States.
