FERTILIZER PRICES WEAKEN DUE TO LATE SPRING May 6, 2013
Red River Farm Network reports:
NPK Fertilizer Advisory Service president David Asbridge says the late spring is having an impact on fertilizer prices.
"We're seeing fertilizer prices move lower. In fact, some of them have taken pretty sharp drops in the last two, three weeks. One of the biggest losers has been the urea market at the Gulf Coast," Asbridge said.
"We've got a big supply of urea in the U.S. this spring and it's causing prices to weaken pretty sharply because we're not using any fertilizer right now."
