May 22, 2013 Iowa State University reports: For 15 consecutive years, the overall placement rate for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) undergraduates has been 97 percent or higher. The placement rate from fall 2011 through summer 2012 (the largest graduating class in 15 years) is 97.8 percent, according to figures from Mike Gaul, director of career services. A total of 94 percent pursued professional employment, 16.2 percent pursued further education and 73 percent of CALS grads stayed in Iowa for their first employment experience. Top 10 employers of CALS undergraduates: 1. DuPont Pioneer - 21 employed 2. Iowa State University - 19 employed 3. U.S. Department of Agriculture - 17 employed 4. and 5. Monsanto Company and Syngenta - tied with 12 employed 6. Cargill - 11 employed 7. Iowa DNR - nine employed 8. Eurofins Scientific - seven employed 9. and 10.
