AGRI-PULSE ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL STAFF FOR 2015 AG POLICY COVERAGE
Source: Agri-Pulse news release

Happy New Year! We anticipate that it will be another exciting year with the 114th Congress off to a fast start and the 2016 election cycle already well underway. And all the while, the list of legislative and regulatory issues impacting our industry continues to grow.

Our investment for your benefit
We want to thank you for your support of Agri-Pulse and let you know we are investing to provide even better coverage in 2015.

As many of you know, we added veteran reporter Philip Brasher in December. And this week, Whitney Forman-Cook joins as our new Associate Editor. She's a Michigan State grad with masters' degrees from Syracuse University and the State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry. Most recently, she worked for the Nature Conservancy in Lansing, Michigan.

I'm also pleased that Ed Maixner will be joining us as a regular contributor, after stepping down from a distinguished career at the helm of Kiplinger's Agriculture Letter. Before that, the North Dakota native worked at Farm Progress Companies, leading our Washington Bureau when I served as VP for Editorial at that firm.

This brings our D.C.-based staff to five full-time and three contributing journalists, including Jon Harsch and Jim Webster, working to bring you the most balanced and trusted Ag and Rural policy coverage in our industry.

We were happy to see that many of you recognized the commitment we made to our midterm election coverage. And you can expect more news and analysis from us as we move into the next congressional as well as presidential elections. Here's e-mail feedback from just one subscriber:

"This issue of your newsletter was so timely and so helpful for me to sort out all of the victories and losses last night. The world has changed overnight for many and especially the Ag community. Thanks for being on top of all of this; it is invaluable to me and my team as we move forward on national issues"

Numbers tell our story

Notes like this make us even more confident that we are following the right path, expanding our coverage and investing in our leading team of journalists. Here are some highlights of how we've grown in recent months:

· Paid and sponsored circulation has grown to a record 5,200 Ag and Rural policy influencers. We are very pleased by how many of our readers carry these titles on their business card: Chairman, President, CEO, Executive Vice President, Vice President, Executive Director, Board Member, and Director - from agribusiness as well as farm and commodity organization leadership. We know of no organization in agriculture that reaches more.

· The Agri-Pulse "Future Ag Leader" program, involving 33 colleges and universities last fall, reached 1,750 juniors and seniors enrolled in Ag Economics Classes covering Ag Policy.

· Agri-Pulse now reaches over 1,200 congressional staffers in every Senate and House office on Capitol Hill.

· The Agri-Pulse web site has consistently attracted over 100,000 visitors per month generating over 400,000 page views. We ended the year with 4.8 Million page views and 1.2 million sessions, with time on site averaging over 13 minutes.

· Our number of Twitter followers continues to climb, exceeding 13,300 followers, including many of the nation's leading farm, food and energy journalists.

· We've revamped our Facebook page to encourage more engagement and interaction.

We appreciate your support

Last but not least, I can't thank you enough for subscribing, advertising and supporting our efforts in numerous ways. I started the company over 10 years ago because I saw the need for dedicated coverage of the Ag and Rural policy sectors.

I did not anticipate that over those 10 years, many of the Beltway news providers would drop their own agriculture coverage and jettison Agri-Pulse to the leading position in this important marketplace. It has been a humbling, yet exciting journey and we look forward to serving you in the years to come.
