Options include offering low rate incentives or deferred payment plans that help customers better match their input purchases to their cash flow. The result for the agribusiness is increased sales, market differentiation, and improved customer loyalty.

Customers include many of the leading seed, crop protection chemical and other agribusinesses. "John Deere Credit is the 'behind the scenes' source of financing for many of the credit programs offered by agribusinesses," says Sidwell. "Experience has shown that many farmers, especially the large and progressive ones, want to have a financing option while making their product purchase considerations. Additional evidence shows that these producers are more likely to select higher value products when that financing is available.

"Because John Deere is also in the business of providing products and services to farmers," Sidwell continues, "we understand farmers' needs and, with that knowledge, can provide superior support to our sales finance partners."
