DTN hires Marcia Zarley Taylor as Exec Editor.

Taylor will assist DTN in its efforts to expand its editorial coverage of the rapidly changing agriculture market driven by the expansion of renewable fuels.
Prior to joining DTN, Taylor had been with Top Producer magazine, where she served as Editor-in-Chief since 1990.

AdVance Broadcast & Communication, Ltd., founders of the Buckeye Ag Radio Network (BARN) acquires the Agri Broadcast Network (ABN), Lima, OH.

AdVance will continue to operate both networks, expanding the company's programming reach from 15 stations to more than 65 stations.

AgriNews Publications was honored by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) at the group's 77th annual convention and trade show in February.

The publisher of Illinois AgriNews, Indiana AgriNews and CountryNews, AgriNews received the 2006 Meritorious Service in Communication Award.

The national award acknowledges outstanding communication accomplishments that promote understanding and goodwill between producers and consumers of agricultural products.

Brownfield, Ag News for America, announces Julie Harker joins the Brownfield team as news anchor.

Glacier Ventures Int'l Corp., parent company of Farm Business Communications (FBC), Winnipeg, MB, and publisher of Manitoba Co-operator acquires Farmers' Independent Weekly (FIW) whose weekly publication is distributed throughout Manitoba.

The publications are merged under the masthead Manitoba Co-operator and will be published weekly. Subscribers of the Co-operator and FIW will continue to receive the merged publication.

Named Assoc Pub'l/Editorial Dir of FBC is John Morriss, Lynda Tityk is named Dir of Sls and Circulation for FBC and Tom Mumby is named Dir of Mktg & Bus Development, Glacier Agricultural Communications Group.

The Board of Directors of High Plains Publishers names Tom Taylor as Publisher of High Plains Journal and VP/COO of High Plains Publishers.

Prior to being appointed to Assoc Publisher in 2000, Taylor served as Classified Ad Mgr/Sls Mgr.

Among his accomplishments, he was Pres of National NAMA in 2004.

After more than a decade of co-sponsoring the annual No-Till Innovator Awards to honor leaders in conservation tillage, Syngenta Crop Protection turned the tables on Lessiter Publications, presenting the group with a special No-Till Innovator Award. The surprise recognition took place last month, during the milestone 15th National No-Tillage Conference in Des Moines.

Lessiter is the founder of the National No-Tillage Conference (NNTC), which is considered an essential forum to discuss, teach and learn about no-till management. Since 1993, the NNTC has provided cutting-edge information to nearly 11,000 growers, researchers, retailers and other agricultural leaders, influencing millions of acres.

"This award not only commemorates the 15th anniversary of the innovative conference, but also Lessiter Publications' ongoing commitment to no-till education and promotion," says David Pinon, Comms Mgr for Syngenta Crop Protection.

Stan Bird receives the Western DairyBusiness magazine's 2007 Outstanding Dairy Industry Pioneer/
Service Provider Award. The award recognizes Bird for his lifetime dedication to the dairy industry and his long time efforts to organize, market, and promote its activities.

Bird is known for his involvement with the World Dairy Expo, and the founder of its events such as the World's Forage Analysis SuperBowl and Forage Management Cup contests. He is also credited with launching Lechero Latino, a Spanish/Portuguese magazine for Latin American dairy operators.

The 2008 Farm Progress Show, scheduled for August 26-28, will be held on a new, permanent biennial site east of Boone, IA.

This long-term facility for the nation's largest outdoor farm show will be developed on nearly 600 acres at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 17.

Annex Publishing & Printing Inc. announces the acquisition of Manure Manager magazine from Vancouver based Manure Manager Partnership.

Annex's agricultural publications include Top Crop Manager, Canadian Poultry, Fruit & Vegetable, Greenhouse Canada and Drainage Contractor.

Manure Manager
will be published from Annex's Exeter, Ontario office.
