CAMA UPDATE
NEWS FROM ONTARIO
With members traveling from across the province of Ontario, CAMA provides regular opportunities for casual conversation and networking. We help members stay connected, have fun and enjoy professional development through regular chapter meetings, professional development seminars and national Best of CAMA awards. If you would like more information about CAMA, please visit www.cama.org.

CAMA Ontario Executive Director, Lynn Hewitt, 705/446-0959, camaontario@rogers.com.

COLLIDING GENERATIONS
Each year at the Western Fair Farm Show in London, ON, CAMA holds a lunch meeting. This past March we were pleased to have Rob Hannam from AdFarm moderate a panel of guests representing various generations. Focusing on attitudes and actions in the workplace, CAMA members learned how to respect and understand those from different generations as well as how to deal with colliding generation situations.

Thanks to Ivan Warriner, Hyland Seeds; Dan Wright, Monsanto Canada; Sarah Goudy, AdFarm and Rob Larmer, University of Guelph for participating in the panel.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPRING SEMINAR
CAMA Ontario hosted a seminar at the Cutten Club, Guelph, ON, on April 19. The day focused on professional development with "Trademarks — Everything You Need to Know" in the morning followed by "Marketing Mature Brands."

Caitlin MacAgy from Monsanto talked about where and when a trademark would be used as well as how to develop a strong trademark. This was followed by instructions on filing for a trademark and how a trademark can be protected once it is registered.

The afternoon seminar was presented by Blair Bossuyt from NuFarm. He discussed the challenges and opportunities mature brands have in the marketplace and how to overcome both. He also presented ideas on how to stand out from the competition when doing business in a highly competitive market.
