CAMA's CERTIFICATE IN AGRI-MARKETING
As part of CAMA National's directive to offer Canadian agri-marketing professionals with opportunities to further their professional development, CAMA is pleased to offer their Certificate in Agri-Marketing.

Based on a three-course program that develops and enhances marketing skills in agribusiness professionals, the program was developed jointly by CAMA and the Agri Studies. The Certificate in Agri-Marketing provides both knowledge and credentials for those who successfully complete the Program. The three courses in the Certificate in Agri-Marketing program are Marketing to Farm Businesses, Strategic Agri-Marketing and Agri-Marketing Application.

Aimed at benefiting both the individual taking the course and their employers, the Certificate in Agri-Marketing program provides:
• Increased knowledge of the issues/concepts important to agri- marketers.

• Increased professionalism.

• Improved prospects for advancement in work related responsibilities.

• Credentials to support application for more advanced education.

• Assurance employees have a defined level of marketing knowledge and skills.

As a member of CAMA National and a strong supporter of the Certificate in Agri-Marketing program, CAMA Manitoba would like to congratulate all recent certificate recipients.

DIRECTOR PROFILE
David Lazarenko, Pres-elect

In his forth year as a director for CAMA Manitoba, Lazarenko moves into the role of Pres recently vacated by Cathy Cordlieone. An account supervisor for BCG Communications, Winnipeg, MB, he possesses extensive experience in account, client and project management and currently assists in the corporate communications management of large, multi-national firms such as Cargill and Monsanto.

With a strong business background in advertising, communications and business management/
development, Lazarenko graduated from the Asper School of Business, Winnipeg with a degree in marketing and entrepreneurship.

In conjunction to his professional duties, he is actively involved in many community, charitable, educational and professional organizations including his role as Pres of CAMA and his involvement with the Manitoba Children's Museum Board of Directors.

UPCOMING EVENTS
With a mandate to promote "Excellence in Agri-Marketing", CAMA Manitoba's members will be returning from a summer hiatus to resume their monthly Lunch and Learn sessions.

Created as a venue that allows CAMA members to hear from high profile industry speakers, who educate and inform on topics relevant to the industry and their profession, the Manitoba Chapter's next event is scheduled to take place Monday, September 18, 2007. Welcoming representatives from Statistics Canada, CAMA Manitoba members will be provided with a first-hand overview of the 2006 Agricultural Census Report.

In addition to taking in the knowledge presented by Statistics Canada, September 18, CAMA Members will also take part in the chapter's Annual General Meeting. In addition to discussing the past and upcoming agenda's, members will have the opportunity to meet a number of new directors who are slated to join the team and can say goodbye to those who have fulfilled their directorial duties and will be moving on to other endeavors.
