Deciphering Consumer Trends
Dr. A Elizabeth Sloan
, President, Sloan Trends Inc.

Consumer food trends play a very influential role on the agri-food value chain. This session will address the latest consumer food trends, how they are currently influencing the decisions that agribusinesses make, and how companies across the supply chain can work together to meet growing and changing consumer preferences.

Dr. Sloan is the President of Sloan Trends, Inc. is a 20-year consultancy which identifies new high potential nutraceutical market opportunities via its TrendSense predictive model. Dr. Sloan is the contributing editor to Food Technology and Nutraceuticals World magazines.

She was formerly Editor-in-Chief of McCall's magazine; Director of the Good Housekeeping Institute and Asst. Editor-in-Chief, Good Housekeeping magazine; each with 35+ million readers.

Dr. Sloan also served as SVP/International Director, Food & Nutrition, Hill & Knowlton Public Relations; Scientific Director, Am. Assoc. of Cereal Chemists and Director, Nutrition Communications & Technical Services, General Mills. She has authored over 450 articles on food/nutrition marketing and two college textbooks on nutrition.

Transforming the Workplace
Barri Rafferty
, Senior Partner and Chief Executive Officer North America, Ketchum

Helping companies develop strategies necessary to create a more inclusive work environment is key to the Women in Agribusiness mission. This session will take a look at specific steps companies can take to create a greater gender parity in the workplace.

Barri is a member of Ketchum's global executive committee. She oversees Ketchum's nine North American offices as well Ketchum Digital and Ketchum Sports and Entertainment, and the complementary businesses Harrison & Shriftman and Access Communications. Barri has a legacy of client service and continues to advise many of the agency's largest clients, including Gillette, Procter & Gamble, Frito-Lay, Ikea and Nestle.

Outside of Ketchum, she participates in a number of groups including the sustainability task force for the World Economic Forum and is a member of Arthur W. Page Society Page Up program.

She sits on the board of StepUp, an organization with the mission of empowering girls from under-resourced communities to become confident, college-bound, and career focused and she is also a member of the governing body of OmniWomen, Omnicom's Leading Women's Network, for which she holds quarterly panel discussions featuring prominent women.
